Marriage Reset Story: The Moment Everything Shifted

I was walking through the forest — again. Same path. Same story. Same damn monologue I’d been repeating for thirteen years.

Talking to myself about my disaster of a marriage. Complaining. Justifying. Searching for answers — alone.
Because my partner didn’t want to, or couldn’t, take part.
And I was going mad. Maybe I already was.
My business was crumbling. My life was fading into something I didn’t even recognise anymore.
Just me, my broken marriage, my non-existent partnership, and my addiction to misery — the same misery I grew up with as a child.
And still, I kept fighting. Trying to make it work. Trying to fix something that wasn’t mine to fix.
Trying to save what was already gone.
Then, one morning — rain falling, sun breaking through in flashes — I took the same path I’d walked hundreds of times before. But this time, I went early. Not in the afternoon. And five minutes in — it hit me.
Like a bullet. Like lightning through my skull.
I stopped. Frozen mid-step.
And it came: Why the hell am I basing my entire life on this one toxic thought — that my marriage is broken?
Why am I eating like shit, treating myself with no respect, letting my business die, my dreams fade —
all because my relationship isn’t the way I want it to be?
And for once — I didn’t argue with it. I didn’t analyse it. I just listened. I connected to myself!
And right there, in the middle of that forest, something reset.
From that exact moment — I changed.
My perspective shifted. My marriage started changing. My business, my energy, my focus — everything took on a new life.
Because I finally stopped obsessing over what was broken — and started building what was still possible, particularly from a place of me and not the me and someone else.
That was the day I got my power back.
