In 2015 — after six brutal years of crashing from grace — my life was in ruins.
I was effectively homeless, using drugs, selling my body for cash, and grieving the death of my grandmother — the woman who raised me and whom I loved more than anyone.
I kept asking myself, “What the hell is happening to me — and why?”
No answer came.
So I changed the question: “How can I help others?”
And the answer came instantly: Write a book.
I didn’t have a high school diploma. I never thought I could write a book.
But there are enough tools to fix grammar — and I wrote from the most vulnerable place I had.
I started with the catalyst — my grandmother’s death in 2009.
I mapped my life into chapters — some easy, many painfully hard.
By December 2017, despite the chaos, I finished and self-published The Loss of Self on Amazon.
It sold a few hundred copies — and became the best therapy I’ve ever had.
Now, in October 2025, I’m rewriting The Loss of Self — with the goal of making it a bestseller. Step by step.
